KNOWLEDGE

Children will gain a greater understanding of the world that they live in.  They will be able to recognise the four countries within the United Kingdom and describe some basic human and physical features.  Through learning about seasonal changes, children will begin to appreciate how these have an effect on a range of physical processes such as weather conditions

POSSIBILITIES

Children are encouraged to be curious and have a sense of excitement towards their learning. This term children will make observations about changes in the weather. They will be encouraged to ask questions and give suggestions about what they notice.

DIVERSITY

Through our geography teaching, children will continue to learn about their immediate environment as well as begin to understand that the world exits beyond our own locality.

COMMUNITY

Through our teaching of RE, children will begin to recognise that there are many different types of communities and that it is possible to be part of more.  Children will also develop a sense of what it important to certain religious communities and learn to respect the beliefs of others.
