Jungle Animals - January 2025

WAIL: To name jungle animals and compare features.

WAIL: To know that jungle environments exist in other parts of the world

We have spent two weeks learning all about the Jungle. We have used the stories ‘Monkey Puzzle’ and ‘Animal Boogie’ to ignite our Jungle learning. The children have focused on learning the names of Jungle animals and we have compared them to animals that we see in our locality of Shenley Church End. We have also been using Google Earth to identify Jungle environments around the world and compare them to Milton Keynes. We noticed that Jungles do not have roads and buildings. We learnt that a lot of Jungle animals, creatures and plants haven’t yet been discovered. We then linked our provision with jungle animals and spent lots of time talking about the animals and comparing them. We were then very lucky as Mrs Wright kindly offered to bring Zena her pet parrot into Foundation as the children have learnt that a parrot is a jungle animal as well as a pet which led us nicely onto our learning about pets.
