People who help us - January/February 2025

WAIL: To identify people who help us

WAIL: To recognise jobs within our community

WAIL: To ask relevant questions

We have been so lucky to have had five exciting visitors in the past few weeks! We have been thinking about people who help us within our community. We then thought what could be better than having people who help us come to visit us! We are incredibly lucky and grateful as we have enjoyed a visit from a dentist, optician, the police, a paramedic and a vet! It has been five brilliant sessions with lots of question, answers and practical activities. The lovely dentist spoke to us about how and why we should look after our teeth. Our kind optician showed us a model of an eye, let us try on glasses frames and did some really fun eye test examples with us. The fabulous police spoke to us about how they help us and our community, they explained a lot about stranger danger and then took us to see their police car and even turned the lights and sirens on for us! The wonderful paramedic showed us the kit that she carries around and modelled how this works to check people's hearts and oxygen levels. We then tried on the paramedic uniform and had a go at putting on bandages! Then we were joined by lovely Laura who is a vet and she showed us on Mabel how she takes care of animals and what she checks for. It has been a really exciting time and we have really enjoyed learning about roles within the community!
