Our GIANT WOW writing hook

On the morning of Monday 9th September, the children in Chimps and Crocs class went to assembly. When they returned to the Year 1 area they discovered that something had made a huge mess in the classroom! Whatever had caused the mess had left some clues behind. The Year 1 children discovered large green leaves, big footprints, golden feathers, a golden egg and had written "Fee Fi Fo Fum" on the whiteboard. 

The children then discussed and wrote down their predictions for what they thought had caused this mess! Some suggestions included a feathery dragon, a golden bunny, a monster and a troll, and of course a giant!

One child suggested asking Mr O if he had any CCTV footage that we could watch back.

The next day the children received a video from Mr O and discovered a giant had caused the mess.  

This then kick started our unit of writing based on Jack and the Beanstalk.
