WAIL: To name common trees in our environment (Maple, Rowan and Silver Birch). To name the parts of a tree (trunk, branch, roots and leaves). To spot signs of autumn. To match leaves from common trees.
We have had an incredibly busy week learning all about the world around us. We went on a mini walk in our outside learning environment to identify the different trees within our area. We discussed the similarities and differences between the three trees Rowan, Maple and Silver Birch within our environment. We then had a great time collecting these leaves so that we could complete a leaf sorting activity which we thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed discussing how the leaves looked so different. Whilst outside this week we were spotting signs of autumn and even completed a season sorting activity. We then took a closer look at trees and tried to independently name the parts of a tree.
