Whilst I appreciate that young children, especially when starting school for the first time, do pick up bugs/illness I want to stress how important it is that children attend school every day that they are well enough to. I have included some information that you may wish to consider next time you are thinking of keeping your child off school.
Poor attendance can seriously affect a child’s:
Attainment at school
Relationship with other children and their ability to form lasting friendships
Confidence to attempt new work and work alongside others
Good habits for life leading into the world of work
