Remembrance day 2025
This week, we came together for Remembrance day to reflect on the significance and importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed. Through different activities, the children developed an understanding of Remembrance Day and how it helps us to value peace and appreciate the contributions of others throughout history.
In EYFS, the children created a beautiful poppy collage and learnt about the poppy as a symbol for remembrance.
Year 1 explored the theme through art, using watercolours to paint individual poppies and then carefully assembling them into wreaths.
Year 2 learned about the different coloured poppies and what each colour represents. They used this to create poppy-inspired artwork. Year 2 also wrote acrostic poems for Remembrance Day.
