WAIL: To say why Diwali is celebrated
This week we have enjoyed learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children enjoyed exploring the artefacts that we have in school. We have looked at some traditional ways in which people dress when celebrating Diwali. We have set up an area which represents what it might look like in a house that was celebrating Diwali. We have shared the story of Rama and Sita. We asked lots of questions and enjoyed listening to different ways in which different families celebrate. We use clay to make a Dyia lamp and created Rangoli patterns in lots of different ways.
