GTS Consultation to reduce PAN 2027

Outcome of the consultation on reducing the Pupil Admission Numbers at Glastonbury Thorn School

In December we opened a consultation on proposals to reduce the Pupil Admission Number (PAN) at Glastonbury Thorn School from 60 to 30, with effect from September 2027. I would like to thank everyone who responded to the consultation.

Having considered all responses received to the consultation, together with local demographic projections and the number of applications received for admission in September 2026, the Governing Board has decided that the PAN will reduce to 30 from September 2027

The Governing Board will continue to monitor demographic projections and will increase the PAN if there is sufficient demand for school places in the future.

If you have any questions about the changes to the school’s admissions policy please contact office@glastonburythorn.co.uk

Yours sincerely,

Sophie Sarginson

Chair of Governors

Following a request by the Governing Board of Glastonbury Thorn School to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator, the Published Admission Number for admission to Year R in September 2026 has been reduced from 60 to 30.
