Glastonbury Thorn School

Welcome to Glastonbury Thorn School.

Glastonbury Thorn is a happy, safe and healthy place to learn; we are very much a ‘family’ school. We develop attitudes of support, respect and care through all our activities and the relationships we have with all our children.

Equally important is learning. We set high standards in everything we do and strongly believe in the importance of the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics.

At Glastonbury Thorn, we also believe that education is an experience that all children should enjoy to the full. We offer a relevant and engaging curriculum: creativity and a culture of achievement are key strengths in our school.

We celebrate success for all – we all learn best when we are encouraged, and we feel good about ourselves. We develop a strong community spirit in our children that helps them to become positive, active and responsible citizens in the future.

If your child is to join us for the first time we welcome you as parents/carers and look forward to a happy and successful partnership over the coming years.

If you already have a child who has been part of Glastonbury Thorn, we are pleased to renew the links between us. Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it.

This website with its photos, children’s work, quotes, and news updates should give you a picture of life at Glastonbury Thorn School but we also invite you to take advantage of the many opportunities we offer for you to come into school.

We hope you will develop your knowledge of Glastonbury Thorn through contact and discussion with our members of staff and governors.

It is important that mutual understanding and trust should be the basis of our shared responsibility of the development of your child.
