Challenge (optional)
You will need two 10 frames. This can be done by drawing a table with 10 squares, five in the top row and five in the bottom row. Have a look at the example on the PowerPoint to help you.
Build the numbers 2 to 8 onto a ten frame, normally e.g. starting in the left hand corner and adding the correct amount of counters, and then in pairs putting 2 counters underneath each other to make a pair. Compare the different patterns, what is the same? What is different? How many pairs are there in the different numbers?
