Miss Plumb
Class Teacher
My Journey
My journey through school was an exciting and enjoyable one. My inspiration for becoming a teacher came when I was 8 years old from a teacher called Mrs Martin. Her passion for teaching and learning was infectious and I thoroughly enjoyed going to school. She was able to spark my interest in things that I had never thought about before, in particular a love and passion for reading and sharing stories. I remember maths was a challenge for me in school, but she gave me the confidence to always have a go at something and fostered the idea that it is ok to make a mistake. This I try to instil in everyday life, particularly in my own classroom, creating an environment of perseverance and always trying our best.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching at Glastonbury Thorn School! The enthusiasm from the children to want to learn is exciting and creates a love for learning around the school. I particularly enjoy working with the younger children and seeing the spark that they get when they are first introduced to something new, or are able to do something for the first time, in particular when it comes to reading and they begin to be able to read to their adults at home.
