  • COVID19 - Absence Reporting

    Mon 14 Sep 2020

    ILLNESS REPORTING / RECORDING

    Dear Parents/Carers

Due to the way we are recording illness/absence because of Coronvirus could you continue to notify the school in the usual way either via ParentMail,  office@glastonburythorn.co.uk  or 01908 504648 but report fully on the symptoms that your child is presenting with.  Please also let us know whether you have contacted NHS 111 or your GP and any advice that they have given you for example whether you have been asked to get a test and isolate or a common cold etc.

Please do not send your child to school if they, or any members of your household, are showing coronavirus symptoms:

    • High temperature
    • New continuous cough
    • Loss or change to your sense of taste or smell

If any member of your household develops any of these symptoms then you must arrange a test and inform school of the results.  If you are unsure whether you need to arrange a test please call NHS 111 or your GP for advice.

If the test is negative, your child can return to school.  However, if the test is positive, follow government guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus infection and engage with the NHS Test and Trace process.

If NHS 111 or your GP advise that your child is suffering from a cold, although we appreciate that you would be monitoring their symptoms, we would encourage you to send your child to school providing they are well enough to attend.

In some circumstances we may need to call you to clarify your child’s symptoms if we do not have enough information provided.
