  • If you go down to the woods today…

    Wed 25 May 2016

Year 1 have had a very busy half term learning all about our local woodland and the wildlife that live there through the topic ‘Whatever the weather.’

During two recent walks to the woods the children have learnt so much through observing the seasonal changes, animal habitats and behaviours and the plant life that they found in our local area. They took part in lots of exciting activities, making nests, creating spring collages, learning about the real life habitats of the animals from the stories and much more! The walks were a great success and everyone enjoyed them.

Thank you to all of the parents who accompanied the children.

  • Grow, grow, grow!!

    Wed 25 May 2016

This half term the Tigers, Leopards and Hippos have been very busy learning all about how things grow.

We’ve looked at how plants and animals grow and how how we ourselves grow! We have learnt all about the conditions needed for healthy growth in plantlife and what animals and humans need to grow and keep healthy. The children have also thought about how things change as they grow, what they can they do now that they couldn’t do when they were a baby. We have looked back on their time in school so far and the children have identified how much they have learnt and grown in that short space of time.

It’s been really lovely to see how far they have come and for the children themselves to identify how much they have changed!
