Monday and Tuesday:
WAIL: To form adverbs by using the ly suffix.
Over the next two days we are going to be recognising and forming adverbs. Adverbs give the reader more information about how a verb is being done. E.g. Tom ran quickly.
On Monday work through the PP to, and including, slide 8. On Tuesday, work through to the end of the PowerPoint.
WAIL: To use knowledge of word types to group words.
Use the set of words, written on cards to classify into any groups that you wish (e.g. by number of syllables, type of prefix, type of suffix, long vowels, short vowels). Can you explain why you have grouped them in this way?
Thursday and Friday
WAIL: To spell words accurately.
Use the cards from yesterday. Get a family member to pick a card and read it out to you. Write down the word. Check to see if you have spelt it accurately. Digging Deeper. Can you put the word in an interesting sentence?
