Reading and Writing

This week we are learning the story of The Gingerbread Man.  Please watch the story below.  Throughout the week we will be doing lots of different activities:

 

Draw a picture of The Gingerbread Man and label it - head, leg, arm, eyes, nose, buttons etc.

Challenge:  Write a sentence about something that happens in the story  eg The Gingerbread Man says run run as fast as you can!

 

Talk about the meaning of the word 'giggle' and think about other words that mean the same eg laugh, chuckled, cackle, snigger, guffaw etc.

Talk about the different things that make you laugh.

 

Draw a picture of something that makes you laugh.

Challenge: write a sentence about what makes you laugh eg My friend makes me chuckle.

 

Follow instructions to make a Gingerbread Man.

 

Draw a Lost poster to find the Gingerbread Man who has run away.  Label the picture to describe him.

 

Draw a story map and label each of the animals the Gingerbread Man meets. 

 

Compare the stories below - How are they the same?  How are they different?
