Today we are reintroducing the grapheme 'g'. Sing the Jolly phonics song and recap the action. Say a few words talking like a robot p-i-g, t-o-p, s-i-t, b-i-n and get your child to blend the sounds back together. We are going to begin to start oral segmenting- saying the sounds we can hear in a word. Have a hat, mug, top, tin, mat out on the table. Hold up one of the objects and ask your child what sounds they can hear in the word e.g. you hold up the tin and your child should be able to say t-i-n. Repeat this with the other objects.
