School Council

This pupil group is elected every year by the children themselves and represents pupils’ views within our school. Each councillor wears their ‘School Council’ badge with pride and is always ready to be an excellent ambassador for the school!.

Our School Council consists of two representatives of each Year 2 class. The Council meets frequently, at least once every half-term  to express views, discuss issues and make decisions.

Our staff and governors are always keen to know the views of our pupils. For example, following school events we meet with the School Council to know more about what went well – councillors tell us they enjoy organising and helping our youngest children.

Recent decisions have included:

  • how to improve the outside area of the school – the Council chose some more playground markings.
  • how to spend supermarket vouchers –  after discussion these were used to get lots of lunchtime play equipment.

If we develop our children from the inside, we develop them for life!
