7th September 1982, 1st day at school, I was feeling excited to start my new adventure, but also a little nervous to be leaving my mum. With lots of positive encouragement I went off and had a great time.
Mrs stage was my teacher and was lovely! I remember engaging in wonderful stories and I enjoyed dressing up in the role play area, there was a long pink floaty dress which I loved to wear.... it made me feel all grown up and I often took on the role of being the ‘mummy’.
Many of school reports say I was a caring, loving little girl who always helped others. I have always known I wanted to work with people and in 1998 I started working in a nursery, I loved it! Caring for babies aged 6 weeks all the way up to those that getting ready to go off to school. Seeing the children develop through these years was amazing, sharing all those milestones with their families was a privilege.
In 2010 it was time for a change and I joined the GTS team. It was bit like first day at school again, feeling nervous, will I enjoy it? Will I make friends?.... of course I did!
The team, was many of who are still at Glastonbury greeted me with big smiles and welcomed me into the team, I knew this was the right place for me, everyone working together and the children being the main focus of the school.
I love coming to work and being part of the children’s journey, watching them learn things and achieving new skills, helping and encouraging them along the way.
I beam with pride when I see the children full of excitement and energy at the end of the day as they can’t wait to tell their grown ups about their day.
