This week we have been naming 2-D and 3-D shapes and talking about their properties using mathematical language to describe them:
2-D sides and corners (vertices)
3-D edges, faces and corners (vertices). We have also described the shapes of the faces on 3-D shapes.
We have also used the language curved and straight to describe sides and edges.
Can you go on a shape hunt around your house or when you are walking outside? Take a photo for Tapestry to show which shapes you found. Please add a comment to show the language your child used to describe the shapes.
This week we have been learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly and watching our caterpillars carefully as they got bigger and bigger. They have now cocooned and we are now waiting to see what happens next! Can you draw the lifecycle to show what will happen and label it using your phonics. Some of you will be able to write sentences to explain the lifecycle. Either bring your pictures into school or put a photo on Tapestry so we can share these with the class.
